The High Commssion's Consular Section provides the following services to BOTSWANA NATIONALS:
- Processing of applications for New/Renewal of Passports
- Issuance of Emergency Travel Documents
- Birth certificate duplicates
- Renounciation of Botswana Citizenship

Botswana nationals are advised of the adoption of the electronic passport or e-passport ( and elecronic Emergency Travel Documents) that is already in effect. The validity of the old passports will cease on 31 December 2011.
The High Commission commenced the issuance of the e-passport on 12 November 2011.
Applicants for the new passport are advised that application for the e-passport must be done in person, at the High Commission. Application forms can be obtained from the High Commission at the time of application.
OMANG
The High Commission facilitates the application for renewal and duplication of the National Identity Document (Omang).
The High Commssion's Consular Section facilitates the following services for FOREIGN NATIONALS:
- Visa Application and Issuance
- Work Permit Application and Issuance
- Resident Permit Application and Issuance
- Resident Permit Application and Issuance for the spouce and/or dependents of a Citizen or Resident
Entry Requirements
All visitors entering Botswana must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months, except those with United Nations Convention travel documents. Visitors must also have outgoing travel documents and sufficient funds to finance their stay.
Visas
Australian and New Zealand passport holders are advised that they do not require a visa to enter Botswana for tourist orvisiting purposes.
Foreign Nationals intending to travel to Botswana require a Visa to legally enter the country. Depending of the reason for the visit, visitors are required to obtain the appropriate visa e.g. tourist, work and resident. The maximum validity of an entry visa is 90 days. Extension of stay beyond 91 days may be appplied for and obtained from any Immigration Office in Botswana.
No visitor is allowed more than a 90-day stay in every calendar year, unless permission has been granted in the form of a waiver pending the outcome of a residence permit application.
