Group Houses
A group house is where several students rent a house or apartment on the private rental market. The benefit of a group house is that you can share the costs with other students in your group. As many Batswana are already in Australia, sharing opportunities are plentiful.
Registration with Education Section – Botswana Students
When you arrive in Australia/New Zealand you are required to register with the Botswana High Commission Office in Canberra. Registration requires passport size photograph and your contact details.

When transferring from another university you will need to bring with you a copy of the transcript reflecting your performance from the previous university. If you have transferred from more than one university, you will need transcripts from each of the universities. It is suggested that you make certified copies and keep the original transcript safe.

You are likely to require your certificates (academic and personal such as marriage certificates), and sponsorship letter for registration at the beginning of your first year. Valid Drivers Licence
There are courses which require field research to be carried out around Australia and this requires transportation to the location. Instead of the institution releasing a vehicle for this purpose, you may be required, using a rented car, to drive yourself to a location where research is to be carried out. Therefore, a valid driver’s licence is necessary. Besides, there are some official areas where a driver’s licence is acceptable as a form of identification in case you do not have your passport in your possession.
